Unable to delete my hotmail account

I Wanted to delete my hotmail email account but unfortunately I do not know the procedure to delete the hotmail account I have heard that basically if we wait for two months then most probably the email account will be deleted automatically. Is this true or is there a way simpler and faster to delete the field, there is nothing more for i use this address since the Hotmail account is not used by me anymore because i have signed up for a gmail account and i think that it is simple but sound. Please tell me the procedure to delete the hotmail account as soon as possible. Thanks in Advance :notworthy

As far as i know there are two types of Hotmail accounts both these accounts have a different approach if you want to delete these accounts. I have mentioned the methods below:

1. Free Hotmail account
   
   For closing a free Hotmail account simply sign in to your hotmail account using your login name and password. then Click Help as soon as you log in to your account after that you need to follow the topic named "Close your MSN Hotmail account."
   
   
2. MSN Hotmail Extra Storage account
   
   To cancel a MSN Hotmail Extra Storage account or other MSN subscription, go to MSN Billing.
   

If you wish to close your MSN account, simply follow the below instructions and is nothing complicated. Removing your address from the MSN service is not usually immediate, it takes some time before it is finally abolished. Do not reconnect to your account for which you requested the deletion otherwise the deadline may be postponed or even canceled the request for deletion. Go to the Hotmail home page and login (email address + password). Once your identification carried , in the lower left click Close Account. A new page showing you the formality of the closure of your account. Please read to avoid nasty surprises. At the bottom of the page, re-enter your password and then click Yes.

The above two methods seems working but even though i deleted the account my account is still active. Still i can see a lot of email notification coming to my system. It appears as i have been missing some steps. Please tell me how to go about this problem. Is it like so that my friends are fooling me or making fun with my hotmail id. I now want to close my hotmail account as i think it is not good. Please tell me a different method which can surely delete my hotmail account fastly and furiously. Any help in this matter would be appreciated heavily

If your e-mail was stored on the computer, closing your account does not delete it and it may still be on your computer to do this check.

Windows XP: Click Start, Run, type: control userpasswords2 and click OK
Windows Vista: Click Start logo, above the search bar and type userpasswords2 were worth from the enter key.

Select the Advanced tab and click Manage Passwords.

The e-mail your MSN session is normally present, you can remove it. Everything will be taken into account, unless you use that address again, in this case they will again repeat the steps that one has above views.

It must be that of another user of this computer I guess. This removes information about your computer only (this does not remove your account). If you remove it, it will force just to restore his ID and password, and information will be presented on the computer. So you can safely remove it (if you really want it).

When you are in your inbox, click on the "Help" in the upper right almost. Once on the help page type "close his account" in the search bar and enter. Then just click on the link that microsoft gives worse close the account as it say follow the instructions and you are done.
