Re: Error Message on Bootup
Try disabling all the programs from the start up and see same error is faced or not. To disable all the startup programs, click on Start and select Run. Type MSconfig and hit enter. Click on Startup tab and remove the check marks from all the applications. Click on OK and reboot the system. If the system does not gives error while booting then enable the applications one by one at startup and check which application is giving problems.
Re: Error Message on Bootup
Which is the operating system that you are using? Anyways, some of the system file has not been installed in your machine because of which the particular error is being encountered in your system. There is only one solution to get rid of this problem, that is to format the currently installed system files and reinstall a new copy operating system that you are using.

Many times this problem because of Virus attackes. Try entering "Safe Mode with Networking" so that nothing is running and have access to the network. Please scan your computer for malware. Revert back with the results. Till than i'll try to find some more solutions.
Re: Error Message on Bootup
Have you tried using the sfc /scannow command and pressing enter in the run dialog box? You can also try to boot into the recovery console to run chkdsk /r. Or else better boot from the xp cd and choose install and when it says to press "R" to repair then do it. Check back afterwards whether you are getting same problem or not.
