[CRITICAL BUG] Windows XP X64 & SP2
Hello there, I am facing some problems after updating the operating system on the computer from Windows XP 64bit service pack 1 to Service pack 2. After upgrading the operating system, the drivers of the Nvidia card fail and give an error message saying "The driver is mismanaging system PTEs". The display card which I am using is Nvidia 7450GT installed on a PCI express slot. Is this because of the graphic card? Or is this some CRITICAL BUG in Windows XP X64 & SP2? Please help in solving the issue.
Re: [CRITICAL BUG] Windows XP X64 & SP2
The graphic card which is installed on the computer is faulty according to me which needs to be replaced. The graphic card is not able to respond to the signals which are sent by the operating system of the computer. Hence I would suggest that you get the graphic card of the computer checked by some technician and if the graphic card is faulty, get it replaced.
Re: [CRITICAL BUG] Windows XP X64 & SP2
Scan the system with an updated antivirus and check all the files which are infected. Virus's have the tendency to get linked with the files of operating system or with some files of the drivers. If such a situation occurs then the device whose driver is infected by Virus will not function properly. Hence scan the system and check for all the files which are infected. Repair the files which are infected and check if the problem is solved.

The issue which you are facing is a Driver issue. The drivers on the computer have got corrupt due to which such errors are faced. To solve the issue, right click on My computer and select Manage. Click on Device manager and then select the Graphics adapter. If there are any caution signs, follow the troubleshooting procedure. After completing the troubleshooting procedure see if the system gives the same error or not.
Re: [CRITICAL BUG] Windows XP X64 & SP2
There are lot of files which are associated to the operating system. If any of the file which is associated to the operating system is missing on the system then the operating system will not work properly. Try and repair the installed operating system by inserting the Windows installation disk in the drive and boot the system from the installation disk. Select the Repair windows installation option and let the procedure complete. Once the procedure is complete, hopefully the problem will be solved.
Re: [CRITICAL BUG] Windows XP X64 & SP2
The drivers of the graphic card are conflicting with the operating system due to which the graphic card is becoming unresponsive. I was also facing the same problem with the Nvidia graphic card when a 64bit operating system was installed on computer. To solve the problem, go to the official Nvidia website and download the latest drivers for the model of the graphic card which you are using and which are supported by the operating system. Install the drivers and see if the problem is solved or not.
Re: [CRITICAL BUG] Windows XP X64 & SP2
You will have to reinstall the operating system on the computer. The upgradation of the operating system has not occured properly. The update procedure must have replaced some old files of the operating system which are conflicting with the older system files and hence you are facing such problem. Installing the operating system again on the computer will solve the problem.
