I am leaving in the Canada. My cable provider is ready to provide me Motorola DCX3400 HD/DVR for $475.00 with a 3-year warranty, but I think that it is very costly. Can anyone tell me is this fair price? I don't know very much about it. Please help me about Motorola DCX 3400 HD/DVR.

As per my knowledge Motorola cable boxes also support satellite receivers that you can use to view cable. Motorola cable boxes use some special cards to various channels. There are various type of cards for the different providers of cable. So in this case ask your service provider about this cards and it's charges.

Hey I am also leaving in the Canada and my cable service provider is two plan as following.
1.Motorola DCX3400 HD/DVR for $475.00 which has 3-year warranty.
2.Motorola DCT 6412 HD for $249 which has 6-month warranty.
Can you able to rent this Motorola DCX 3400 HD/DVR. In our country we are able to rent this product and if we like this product then we can buy this. We can get this service for $5/month only. Just asked your service provider about this service. If he said that it will available then you can rent it for month and then can buy it if you like it.
I think your cable service provider is charging little high from you. I am also using Motorola DCX3400 HD/DVR at my home and my cable service provider is charging $400.00 for Motorola DCX3400 HD/DVR with 3-year warranty. I don't know what charges are applied to your country. This is because prizes are different as per country. Just asked another cable service provider for same.
