Fix video problem on the Dell Latitude C600/C500 running Linux
Hello,
I have a Dell Latitude C600/C500 running Linux, but it give me a resolution problem when I try to start it. I have the ATI ranging 128 mobility graphics card. I think the problem is in the configuration and not the drivers. So, if any one can help me in this then it would be great. Thanks in advance.
Re: Fix video problem on the Dell Inspiron 1100
Hello,
I recently installed Fedora Core 3 on my Dell Inspiron 1100. The latop has a 1024x768 screen. Having changed the xorg.conf to display a resolution of 1024x768. The problem is that the laptop display is 1024x768 640x480 screen in a bit. I go to preferences to adjust the resolution and the only option available to me is 640x480 and 0 for the refresh rate. Can someone please help me? Maybe post a xorg.conf to make it work or tell me how to adjust preferences. Thank you for the help greatly.

Hello,
I tried all the solutions on the web site. Nothing worked. When the laptop is loading I changed GRUB to display a resolution of 1024x768 but when Fedora loads everything is 640x480. I have Intel graphics 845. Can someone who has an Inspiron 1100 running Fedora Core 3 please download an xorg.conf. Very appreciated.
Re: Fix video problem on the Dell Latitude C600/C500 running Linux
Hello,
You have installed the drivers for your graphics card? Make a quick view to some of the tutorials, if this is not the case, it should help I think. Because it has a problem with apt-get should be solved before, so that it installs its drivers graphics. I guess your apt-get is installed properly and it is downloading and installing packages properly.
Re: Fix video problem on the Dell Latitude C600/C500 running Linux
Hello,
For the Screen Resolution:
This version of Ubuntu has indeed announced as Marin , a manager of proprietary drivers. It is found in System> Administration. The two components that are problematic, including ATI, are reported. Download and install the firmware for both. At the next reboot, you get the right resolution. If you have any more quires regarding this post then please let us know.
