Mac Mini Microphone Error
Recently I have bought Mac Mini laptop it is working fine but the only thing frustrated me about this laptop is the microphone with Mac Mini laptop. When I tried to use the microphone which I was used previous on my computer system is not detected by this Mac mini. I have rechecked the micro phone with my computer system it is working fine there.
Any ideas related to this Mac Mini Microphone Error problem.
Re: Mac Mini Microphone Error
I will suggest you to buy a USB (Universal Serial Bus) microphone. There are no specifications need any USB microphone will work.
The Mac Mini designed in such a way that it requires an amplified Mic signal through the microphone port. Most of the Mics does not provide this.
But using a USB Mic will solve this problem.
Re: Mac Mini Microphone Error
It will be better to use a Griffin iMic 2 - Sound card - stereo – USB for your problem. The approximate price of this Griffin iMic 2 is around $24.95. This is a perfect model or the perfect recording device.

Re: Mac Mini Microphone Error
The Mac mini input has a line level input. But the Mic line on most analog headsets need a Mic-level input. Mac is not able to give the power to Mic hence your normal Mic is not working. For this Mic to work properly you, need “line level” to pull the level of that Mic line up for providing a line-level output for the Mini to accept.
Re: Mac Mini Microphone Error
I have spent more than thirty minutes on the phone with Mac-expert for solving this problem of connecting a normal Mic to my Mac Mini to the line-in. The only answer I got from that they are not able to figure out the problem and they will call me when they solve the problem.
However, thanks for the reply I have sorted out the issue by using the USB Mic.
