Phenom II x4 955BE problems with ASUS M2N SLI Deluxe
Hi,
I had upgraded my system and added a new Asus M2n Sli Deluxe motherboard. I am using my old processor AMD Phenom II x4 955BE in my pc. I want to overclock the same with Rivatuner where I am not able to get proper result. My system becomes unstable in this action. Does the processor has any particular issue with the board. Or else what should I do.

The Phenom X4 II 955 GB is, as its name indicates Black Edition version which has the distinction of offering a coefficient unlocked the rise. It is the AMD Phenom most highly clocked so far as it operates at 3.2 GHz. It is not the only CPU greens at this frequency as the Athlon 64 X2 6400 + was also clocked at 3.2 GHz. The Phenom X4 II 945 is for its part clocked at 3 GHz and is the equivalent AM3 Phenom X4 II 940 for the socket AM2.

In my case I had started on the PC is OMG temperature 50 ° C in idle, I made a little CPU stress (with OCCT) and bam reboot (a temperature over 79 ° C, I put the breaking capacity at 80 ° C). I made a clearmos, and I go into the bios, I look at the voltages 1.50V CPU temperature 58 ° C and put the CPU 1.350V I boot, nikel and I make a bench with AMD Overdrive I obtain 6530pts (before I had between 8500 and 9000pts) what worries me.

Verifies that the site builder is well 1.35volt if no clue poorly ventilated housing. I have the same processor with a NH-C12P not have this problem 60 ° about the use. I will advice you to get a better PSU unit for your system. Otherwise after some while you can burn your processor and that is a big loss for you. It is very important that the temperature must be maintained.
Re: Phenom II x4 955BE problems with ASUS M2N SLI Deluxe
Indeed it is not so easy to oc a phenom2. With my Phenom 2 940 BEI can take a blow on the 3.9ghz without too much trouble with my new mobo which I had added recently. I can only get 4.0ghz of stable speed on the overclocking. It will be very hard can not even be feasible, but in other cases people stops to 3.8GHz. There is a danger of overheating here.
Re: Phenom II x4 955BE problems with ASUS M2N SLI Deluxe
To be sure the equipment has no problem doing a memtest (for checking that the memory you can not crash) and verify that the contact between the CPU and the cooler is good: properly applied thermal paste, cooler in touch the entire surface of the processor. Then, overclocking is the step by step, then begins to climb the 3.4GHz (just with the multiplier to 17x) while remaining at the stock voltage (1.4V if I remember correctly), do one hour of OCCT. If it does not, there may be some problem with motherboard and processor, do the test where thou hast purchased.
