Showing CapsLock status on screen
I have Vista Home Premium SPlatest. I recently purchased a Logitech MK250
wireless keyboard; and afterwards noticed the absence of the Caps/NumLock
indicators.
I suppose the keyboard would have to be a receiver in addition to being a
transmitter, in order to show the indicator status (if changed by the OS, it
would have to know)
I did not notice any CD with the keyboard.
I understand SetPoint is meant to show a Systray status, but I also read some
comments about it interfering with other Vista components.
Can someone give me code for a simple service that just displays the current
status on CapsLock and NumLock on the systray? Or some simple siftware that
does this? Just show the status.
Re: Showing CapsLock status on screen
I would highly suggest using Google (or another Internet search engine) to
look around and try some for yourself.
Example:
http://www.google.com/search?&q="Windows+Vista"+status+indicator+software+for+numlock+and+capslock
With that alone, I quickly found this freeware:
http://www.binaryfortress.com/traystatus/
Haven't tried it - but...
Re: Showing CapsLock status on screen
Thanks!!
I did find TrayStatus, and a host of others, but not many user comments. I am
hoping this forum will advise: SetPoint of Logitech is I think what would be
recommended by Logitech, but I did come across some very unpleasant comments
about it. Particularly uninstalling it: the person mentioned that there were
about 3000 entries in the registry that were to be manually unloaded.
That was the capslock on!
Re: Showing CapsLock status on screen
I've tried Shenan Stanley's suggestion (TrayStatus), Caps Lock Light, and
NumCapsScroll indicator. They all work fine for me.
I'm using the third because I like its display better (after configuring
it my way), but YMMV, and one of the other two (or one of the many others
on the net) might work better for you...
