Keyboard of Mac Pro freezes frequently
I am facing a very weird issue with the Mac pro which I am using. I have a Mac pro which is installed with Mac OS X 10.5 on it. The Mac Pro was working fine but from past few days the performance of the Mac pro has degraded a lot. All the applications take lot of time to open and sometimes the system freezes completely while opening some application. Also the Keyboard of Mac Pro freezes frequently. I cant figure out what is causing such problem and hence need your help in solving the issue.
Re: Keyboard of Mac Pro freezes frequently
By looking at the problem it seems like the operating system on the computer is not working properly and hence you are facing such issues with the computer. The operating system controls all the functions of the computer. Therefore if the operating system fails then the system will freeze frequently. If you have the installation disk of the operating system which you are using, insert it in the drive and boot the system from the disk. Install the operating system in install/archive mode. Install/archive mode will help you in using the applications which are used in previous operating system. Once the operating system is reinstalled, all the problems will be solved.

Most of the problems which are encountered in Mac systems are solved by doing a PRAM reset. Sometimes invalid entries get stored in the system memory. If the system memory gets flooded with the invalid entries then the system will not work properly. To bring the system back to normal state, you will have to clear all the invalid entries from the system RAM. To clear the invalid entries, shut down the computer and locate the following keys (Apple, Option, R and P). Press and hold the above keys while pressing power button. Keep the buttons pressed till three startup chimes are heard. Once 3rd startup chime is heard, release the button and let the system boot normally. Check if the problem is solved.
Re: Keyboard of Mac Pro freezes frequently
Keyboard of the computer has a small IC which is known as Keyboard controller IC. Keyboard controller IC controls all the functions of the keyboard. It is responsible for computer responding correctly when a certain key is pressed on the keyboard. The keyboard controller IC can get easily damage with slightest change in the voltage. I think the controller IC of the keyboard of the Mac pro has gone bad which is causing such problems. If the keyboard controller IC is faulty then you will have to replace the entire keyboard. After replacing keyboard you will not face keyboard freezing problem.
Re: Keyboard of Mac Pro freezes frequently
For every application to open on the computer, some memory has to be allocated for the process of the application. Only after the memory allocation, the process of the application is executed. There must be some processes which are running in background due to which other applications are taking long time to respond. Therefore before starting any application, open the Activity monitor and check all the process which are running on the computer. Terminate all the processes which are running on the computer. Once all the processes are terminated, check if the performance of the computer improves or not.
Re: Keyboard of Mac Pro freezes frequently
I suspect that the logic board of the computer is faulty due to which you are facing such problem. Logic board of the computer handles all the logical and power distribution decisions on the computer. Therefore If the logic board of the computer is not working properly then the system is bound to face such problem. Hence get the logic board of the computer checked by some technicians and if there are any faults in the logic board, get it replaced. Once the logic board is replaced, all the problems will be solved.
