How to prevent crash in MAC
Hi,
Due to some buggy software I had faced the sad mac. But many times things go normal when the system reboots. But now this has gone out of limit. The system performance is reduced to a great extent. Second thing what should I do here to prevent a crash in MAC. Some basic housekeeping tricks can help me a lot in avoiding those crashes in MAC so easily. Thanks in advance.
Re: How to prevent crash in MAC
Unlike the BIOS on PCs, Macintosh computers use (for the PPC versions) an Open Firmware. The parameters of the Open Firmware is stored in a memory called NVRAM (Non Volatile RAM or nonvolatile memory). PRAM is in effect a subdivision of the NVRAM. This last includes, in addition to the PRAM a few parameters the hardware. Thus, resetting the PRAM is a partial reset of the NVRAM.
Re: How to prevent crash in MAC
At the end of installing software, Mac users can read the word optimizing system performance. This phase corresponds to prebind. Perhaps that prebind does not unfold as planned. Mac OS X abandons and returns control to the user (which is nice for the user but not nice for the poor prebind). This very rare can be easily solved by restarting the prebind. In principle, we must use the Terminal.
Re: How to prevent crash in MAC
A USB modem, in particular, is a factor in crashes on both Mac and PC because the software drivers that it requires. Unplug the USB modem is a good reflex when seeking the cause of a crash. The same goes with any kind of dongles when needed (like the USB modem) installation of driver software. In sum, when a problem arises, it is good to unplug all devices (and uninstall the drivers, if any) in the first instance to ensure that conflict does not come from an incompatibility.
Re: How to prevent crash in MAC
Create a user maintenance with administrator privileges is very useful. By logging on this user and doing some tests, we soon realized if the problem / crash is limited to the usual user profile or if it affects the entire machine. It is good to know that for most applications, each user has its own settings and hence its own file preferences. By opening another session, then we change the environment and therefore library user.

A hard drive is can also be a major part of crash behind this. A bad hard drive quality can thus makes your operating system unstable. To maintain the disk drive requires several types of operations you can enable SMART monitoring, verification of file system or file system check (more software than hardware), repair of Directory or defragmentation.
