Hi all,
I am using acer laptop installed with windows Xp operating system. But when i turned it on today it gave me a warning that your system is infected by W97M/Vmpck.gen and it also seems that a number of files also have been affected by this virus. please tell me how can i delete the W97M/Vmpck.gen virus from my system.It also corrupt my windows directory.
It may be infected through any external drives.On open an infected document the virus will disable the macro warning protection. The Tools/Macro and Tools/Templates and add-ins menu bars will be removed. It infected the Tools/Macro/ Visual Basic editor that will be disabled. The virus will also change the user details in File/Properties/Summary. The virus will export its code to c:\windows.dat. This file is not infected. Check the system properly and reply.
