How to Create a Secure Internet Connection

I can download anything on the internet. And my computer is not old. Also every time I connect I have an IP address that changes at about 5 seconds but it is always the same address comes back. It's as if I had a fixed address as I'd expected to have a dynamic address that changes often being connected DHCP. The lease of the address that always returns actually never expires. And the connections sometimes act slow. How can i make my internet connection secure form the web attacks? I have heared even just by visiting sites we invite spyware to computer. Any tips?

Do you have wireless Internet?? If so, then you have to protect your connection with WPA (you have to go in the "properties" of your connection to the changes).

If you have Internet via modem is probably because you are very far from the station that you deliver your connection. This may be the cause of slow connection.

Also, (if not Wifi) when you use the Internet, I advise you to disconnect making your main phone because otherwise it can greatly slow down your connection.

You're on wifi?? (WiFi need more protection and better through a cable network type Ethernet: prevents the USB cable)

If your problem is slow connection, make the following changes:

Go to change the internet settings in your connection settings. Then you'll change or set the two new DNS addresses are:

Primary DNS 208.67.222.222

Secondary DNS 208.67.220.220

Just by changing or setting both DNS addresses one 222 and another 220 you will have more speed, a little more but you not much difference.
