Can not open Firefox
Hi, this is a cry for help!
I can no longer open firefox since installing the extension adblock updater.
When I click the icon it seems to launch but no window opens, nothing either in the task manager.
By cons when I try to reinstall it asks me to close it while it is apparently not available ... I just run a virus scan.
Thank you to those who can help me!

Re: Can not open Firefox
In fact when you do ctrl+alt+del it may be that firefox is running but it is not displayed in the first tab of task manager.
It must:
- you look in the second tab
- you selects firefox.exe
- Click End Process.
This will avoid next time may be of any move and re-import.

Re: Can not open Firefox
Let me raise this subject because I have the same problem (firefox under execution ...). So I watched as you have suggested in the process. But I'm not in firefox.exe running. Is there another process that could affect firefox?
I'm also interested to know its solution ...

Re: Can not open Firefox
Hello,
Often these problems result from the profile.
So trying to create a new profile:
- Close FF (check in Task Manager);
- Start>> Run Type firefox-p and confirm.
The profile manager opens and creates a new profile and start with it.
If the problems are rectified launch, simply copy your bookmarks to the new profile and reinstall it (carefully) themes and extensions. You can also delete your old profile.
Best regards.

Re: Can not open Firefox
Try by delete files xpicleanup.exe and xpicleanup.dat associated with deletion of files installed Firefox.
Proceed as follows:
- Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Alt + Del )> "Processes" tab> check the process xpicleanup.exe is not in the list> if it is there, select it and stop the process (repeat several times if it appears)
- Enable the display of previously hidden files: Start> Computer> Alt. to display the toolbar> Tools> Folder Options> "View" tab> uncheck "Hide protected files OS"
- Go to C:\ Program Files\Mozilla Firefox> delete the file xpicleanup.exe,
- Go to C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox> delete the file xpicleanup.dat
- Restart Firefox.
