Collect performance data for you servers.
The team foundation sever is provided with the set of counters which can be used for measuring the performance of your team foundation server. So you can use these counter for measuring the performance and keeping track of your application tier and data tier servers.
For viewing the team foundation sever performance counters you can do the following these steps
1. Go to start and then to administrative tools and then to Performance window.
2. Now in the tree pan you have to expand Console Root and then click on the system monitor
3. Now press ctrl+I for opening the Add Counter dialog box.
4. Now you can select the counter from computers.
5. Just keep in mind one thing that in select counter from computer you must have the monitor appear.
6. Now in the performance object list you can click the appropriate set of performance counter.
Next step you have to do that you have to install the latest service packs for all the software which are related to the team foundation server. Some of the software which you need to upgrade are:
1. Visual Studio 2008 Service Pack 1
2. .NET Framework 3.5
3. Windows SharePoint Services 2.0
4. Windows SharePoint Services 3.0
At last you have to check the setting of your antivirus software.
1. It will better if you use background scanning and not the real time scanning
2. For the virtual images of windows server, it will be better to run the antivirus software only for the image and not on the installed software.
