Hi. I have a desktop machine with Windows 7 installed as the operating system to it. I also have connected the canon printer to my system. The problem is with the printer. When I try to print on the double side it gives an error as reload paper. Why is this happening? Please help me out in this scenario. Thank you.
As you have installed Windows 7 as the operating system on your desktop machine it would be that some of the drivers for the printer may not be functioning well under the system. It needs to be upgraded depending on the version of your operating system. You need to download or get the latest drivers for the printer in order to get work with the same under windows 7.
The compatibility is a big concern for the same. It should be that the drivers are not compatible with the operating system or it may have stopped responding with the same. You can do one thing and that is by uninstalling the drivers for the hardware and then reinstalling the drivers again with the advent of making sure that they are installed properly. Check out for the thing. This should work out for you.
Follow the steps as follows:
a) Connect the printer (USB)
b) Now press the windows logo
c) Go to the option of Device and printers
d) Right click on Printers and Faxes to add a printer
e) Use an existing port USB001 then go next
f) Press Have Disk and insert utility disc in CD drive
g) Click autorun.inf file in CD drive.
h) Select P1005
i) Now click OK
Try to run the printer under safe mode this would make the thing to work well. This is because it may be that the printer may not support well under Windows 7. While running the device under safe mode this would help out in order to make the thing to work out. Safe mode will help out as it do not have features enabled in it that windows 7 has. So this should help you out.
Try to run a clean boot. This should help out.
* Go to the start menu and access to it.
* Type msconfig on the search box hit enter.
* Now under the selective startup hide all Microsoft services and disable them.
* Restart the system.
