Error 10060 VNC problem

I purchased the Dell Inspiron 546 desktop computer in last month and i am satisfy with it. The configuarion is as follow: AMD Athlon X2 Dual Core, Integrated ATI Radeon HD3200 graphics, 3GB RAM, 512GB HDD and Windows XP. I play lots of games everyday and use internet also on everyday basis. Recently i downloaded the VNC software for internet connection to connect via the internet with another XP machine. When i ws trying to connect server got error i.e My request timed out: error 10060 . Don't why its like this?? Please help me out.

I am also using the same method while connecting to internet. Actually you have provided less information about the whole problem, where you create the server and on which machine?. But till i know the error 10060 tells that you did not got any response from the server. Unsure that the server is able to connect to itself and also check weather you can ping the server from the client machine. Hope you will soon be able to solve this error.

The error caused to you is most common i have seen. This error is mostly due to the firewall or remote registry service. The XP systems will always install the Remote Registry service automatically, but it can due to the prerequisite Registry Permissions that is always available. The Plus, File and Print sharing should be enabled. To install the VNC service on the remote service purpose, then activate the service (i.e start it running), then the VNC software on your system connects to the remote service.

The error 10060 is mainly caused due to the antivirus firewall or windows firewall. Recently i also got the same error and it was due to the Windows XP firewall, and i fixes it. If you also want to fix the error then unsure that you open the ports 5900 and 5800 for display 0 on the firewall and on the router ,if using only one. Also check that server is able to connect with itself or not and this error may also come if you don't get any response. Hope your problem get solve properly.

According to me the Connection time-out or request timed out errors indrectly means you are not able to ping or may be it can be a firewall issue. So, check if you can ping the PC and if are able to then the next step to make unsure that you enter the by-default port of 5800 and 5900 into the firewall of you desktop computer. Hope this will fix your problem.

My studies about the networking says that the error 10060 means no computer responded to the request and it does not means that no process is listening to the request. And this error mainly comes This is most commonly found due to the antivirus or windows firewall configuration and may be also due to the IP address which you are using is the wrong one. Check and correct this two cases and your problem will get fix.
