Help with Win32/Swif.I Trojan on my HCL ME Netbook
I had recently purchased a new HCL ME laptop. It had Windows XP operating system installed, which I upgraded to Windows Vista. I had no problems while upgrading. But then when I was installing the Adobe Flash Plug-ins for Internet Explorer 8, Avira anti virus terminated the process and showed an alert regarding Win32/Swif.I Trojan. Now I do not know whether the virus is deleted or not. How to delete it and also provide some information on the same.
Scan your computer in Safe Mode
My suggestion would be that you boot your computer in Safe Mode. The Safe Mode will not execute any third party software applications. Thus it is termed as Safe Mode. The icons on desktop screen appear larger in size. Reboot your computer and when the vendor logo is displayed keep tapping the F8 Key. This will boot your computer in Safe Mode. Now you may run a full system scan to detect and delete the virus.
Safe scan not helpful to delete Win32/Swif.I Trojan
I tried the suggested Safe mode scan on my HCL ME laptop, but the was not the solution. When I scanned my laptop in safe mode it detected the Win32/Swif.I Trojan and also allowed me to delete it. Then when I restarted my computer in normal and scanned it, the Win32/Swif.I Trojan was again detected. I guess the Avira anti virus is not working. Suggest some other removal methods and anti virus as well.
