HP Officejet All-in-one and iPod dont work together
Recently I assembled a new computer with following specs Intel Quadcore Processor 3ghz, Intel Extreme motherboard and 3gb ram. I have installed 64 bit Windows 7 installed on it. With the computer i bought a new HP Officejet 6500 All-in-One printer and a Ipod touch. I connected the printer to the computer first and then installed the drivers. It was working fine. Then I connected the Ipod and Installed Itunes. After that the Printer stopped working and the Ipod also does not get sync. If the Printer is uninstalled then the Ipod gets synced. I cant figure out what the problem is. Is it possible that Ipod and HP Officejet 6500 All-in-One printer conflict with each other? Please suggest some solutions to this problem. The Printer is a USB printer. Can this be the reason for conflict?
Re: HP Officejet All-in-one and iPod dont work together
Its probably the drivers of Hp printer which are conflicting with the proper working of both the device. Have you installed proper drivers for the printer for the operating system you are using? As you have installed Windows 7 64 bit the normal generic drivers will not work. You will have to download a new set of drivers for Windows 7 64 bit. Uninstall the current printer drivers and then install the new drivers and see if the problem continues. Installing the proper drivers for the printer which supports the operating system will solve the issue.
Re: HP Officejet All-in-one and iPod dont work together
Check the USB drivers of the computer, the problem you are getting can be because of that. The compatible drivers for many devices are not yet released for Windows 7 64 bit version. If the proper drivers are not installed then the devices dont work properly. I suspect that the USB drivers of the computer are not compatible with the operating system which you are using. You are using an Intel Extreme motherboard, hence visit the official Intel site and download the latest drivers for USB which are compatible with Windows 7 64 bit. You can also update the driver from Device manager. Right click on My computer and select manage. Now select device manager and right click on the USB controller and select update drivers. System will find the latest drivers for the current windows version and install it. Hopefully installing latest drivers will solve the problem.
Re: HP Officejet All-in-one and iPod dont work together
It is possible that the Ipod and the Printer both may be attempting to access the same drive letter and hence are conflicting with each other. As both the devices are USB device and are removable, it is possible that the system may be assigning them the same drive letter and both try to access the same drive letter. I would suggest you to connect the printer first and install it. Once installed check if it is working properly. If it is working properly, then check the drive letter assigned to it. Now open the console manager and change the Printers drive letter. Now connect the Ipod and install it. Now Ipod will get some other drive letter which will not be the same as the printer hence there will be no conflict between them and they both will work properly.
Re: HP Officejet All-in-one and iPod dont work together
Itunes tends to create many issues like conflicting when it is installed on a certain system. The application which are in bundle with Itunes get installed during installation of Itunes. Many times this application conflict with the previously installed applications. Try and remove the applications which are installed alongwith the Itunes and check if the Printer and the Ipod works together or not. While removing the applications do not remove the Bonjour utility as it will make your Ipod not detectable on the computer. Once the applications are uninstalled check if the printer and Ipod work together. It should work after removing the bundle applications of Itunes
Re: HP Officejet All-in-one and iPod dont work together
Have you installed any synchronizing software on your computer other than Itunes? If yes then uninstall the software and check the performance of the computer. If there is some other synchronizing software installed on the computer it conflicts with the Itunes and which results in Ipod not getting synched. Uninstall the synchronizing software and then install the Itunes again. Now you will be able to sync the Ipod with your computer. After installing Itunes, connect the Ipod. Now Check the option which says "Enable Disk Use". Now the Ipod will be detected as an External Storage Device. Once the computer detects Ipod as external storage device, connect the printer and install it. Now the printer and Ipod will not conflict with each other.
