Thunderbird does not start after update
Hi,
Thunderbird does not start after update to Thunderbird 2.0.0 (automatically by Thunderbird), Thunderbird cannot boot. The error message on startup is: "The instruction at" 0x7c9206c3 "referenced memory at" 0x00a3cdc2. The process of "written" could not be performed on the memory. " I'm using Windows XP. I have completely uninstalled Thunderbird, win restarted and reinstalled Thunderbird, but the error message when starting Thunderbird again displayed. Is there a way of reversing or remove completely, so after reinstalling no more problems occur. Can someone help me maybe?
Re: Thunderbird does not start after update
This error occurs when:
1. No access rights to the Thunderbird configuration .
1. No access rights to the archive mailbox .,
2. In profiles.ini, you need to change the setting Default = 1 (if the letters are stored in a folder by default), if you store them in another folder, or via SMB, you need to set Default = 0
Re: Thunderbird does not start after update
To solve your problem, Create a shortcut in the directory of Thunderbird and under properties you change the name to your destination in the following: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird\thunderbird.exe"-safe-mode, If this does not create a shortcut as above change the target entry into "C: \ Program Files \ Mozilla Thunderbird \ thunderbird.exe" Profiles Manager. After creating start select View, then Folder and select Next to specify the old folder where the old data of Thunderbird. Or have you installed Thunderbird to another folder where it was before, then go to Documents and Settings folder, the user folder, application data, Thunderbird, profile and search profiles in the current chrome.rdf the file and then adjust the paths where Thunderbird is correctly. With this option you can also remove extensions that are displayed but no longer exist. But here we have to edit the file extensions.rdf and delete the relevant entries. But do all this with caution and always make a backup of the files.
Re: Thunderbird does not start after update
If the message indicates that Thunderbird is already running but not responding and to close the process or restart the oden, you must access the process manager of your operating system and end any process with the name "Thunderbird" as stated in the first point of this page.
Then:
Go to the profile folder and delete the file there parent.lock, which is automatically cleared when Thunderbird is shut down gracefully.
Thunderbird starts as usual
Re: Thunderbird does not start after update
If the error message indicates that Thunderbird could not start because the current profile is already in use: Get the profile folder and delete the file there parent.lock, which is automatically cleared when Thunderbird is shut down gracefully. Check the properties of the profile folder is not in "read only" and start Thunderbird as usual.
Re: Thunderbird does not start after update
You simple end the process completely and then start the session again, you can do this by :
- Pressing [Ctrl] + [Alt] + [Del] to open the Task Manager
- Get the top tab, Processes
- Select the process called thunderbird.exe
- Click on the button at the bottom End Process
- The process should disappear from the list and you start Thunderbird normally
