Windows7 Aero fails on Compaq Presario Desktop
I have just purchased a brand new Compaq Presario CQ3070IL desktop computer (KY653AA) last month. It initially had Windows Vista installed. The storage capacity of Hard drive is 500GB, processor is Intel Core 2 Duo 2.8Ghz and 2GB DDR2 RAM. I was gifted a Windows 7 operating system by my uncle on my birthday ten days ago. I installed it on my desktop computer and it completed installation properly. But the transparency is not up to the mark. Is it due to failure of Aero ? How to fix it? Also help me with the system requirements for Windows 7.
Re: Windows7 Aero fails on Compaq Presario Desktop
Yes, even I had this problem with the transparency in Windows 7 operating system. If the transparency settings are disabled for your desktop then this problem is bound to happen. The problem is with the Aero theme. To solve this problem follow the following steps:
- Go to Start on bottom left of your desktop screen.
- Locate the link for: Find and fix problems with transparency and other visual effects.
- Now to launch the wizard for troubleshooting Aero click Next.
- This wizard will then make an effort to solve the issue.
Also update the Graphic hardware drivers.

The system requirements for Windows 7 on desktop computers are as follows:

Memory: 1GB RAM.
Hard drive space: 16GB.
CPU: 1GHz or more (x86).
Quote:

For your transparency problem attach another Monitor and check because even there are chances that your Monitor or Video Card are faulty.
Re: Windows7 Aero fails on Compaq Presario Desktop
There can be that some features of Aero in Windows 7 may be disabled. This is can be due to the setting that are set in the Registry of your operating system Windows 7. For a the transparency to see the desktop in the backdrop open the Registry by typing Regedit in the search box. In the registry go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWM. Here you have to verify that the EnableAeroPeek is set at 1, If it is 0 then make it 1 to enable the transparency. This will help you to enjoy the transparency in Windows 7.
