HELP! Windows vista will not start at all (Compaq presario SR218ONX)
When I start my computer it goes through the normal prosess untill I get a black screen that says I can either start windows normally or run system recovery. When I choose system recovery it says loading files. After it does that it goes to a blank black screen and does nothing.
When I try starting it normally obviously it also goes to a black screen.
When I try starting it in safe mode it starts going through the process and then goes to a blank blue screen and restarts which takes me back to the black screen.
My computer originally did not come with a recovery disk, instead it gives the system recovery option which I have already found useless.
I believe that the problem was caused when Norton found suspicous files in my computer and I think that the vista startup program was deleted along with those files
PLEASE HELP!
Re: HELP! Windows vista will not start at all (Compaq presario SR218ONX)
I think due to virus issue your Windows Vista is corrupted. Now there is only option lies here is to re-install Vista back again. But here are some other solutions then re-installing to get your data. First you can remove your hard disk and connect the same in a working computer. Then copy paste your data. Second if you have Windows Vista's Installation disk then you can simply run a repair process. This process will only repair your corrupted file which is automated in the disc. Just boot your Vista disk and choose the Windows partition.
