Importing PST files back into Outlook Express
I recently installed wipe my computer and then reinstall Windows XP Media. Before this, I went into Outlook Express and opted to back up all the messages and contacts which saved them as .pst files.
After re-installation, I went into OE, expecting to select on import and get everything back the way it was.
No matter what I do ?I am not able to figure out how I can get Outlook Express to choose these .pst files to import.?
Re: Importing PST files back into Outlook Express
Please follow below step steps to import .pst data into Outlook:
i) If the .pst file which you want to import is located on a removable device, like floppy disk, a portable hard disk drive, a CD-ROM, a magnetic tape cassette, or any other storage device, insert or connect the storage device, then make copy of the .pst file to the hard disk drive of the computer.
ii)Open Outlook Express.
ii)Select File menu> select Import And Export. If the command is not available, then select chevrons at the bottom of the menu> then select Import and Export.
iv) Select Import from another program or file> then select Next.
v)Select Personal Folder File (.pst), >then select Next.
vi) Type the name & path of the .pst file , > then select Next.
vii) Select the folder which you want to import. To import all content from the .pst file, click the top of the hierarchy.
viii)Select Finish.
Re: Importing PST files back into Outlook Express
I had also similar type of error. But it is solved when I followed below instruction while importing .pst file.
While you import the .pst file, make sure that the Read-Only attribute is must not selected. If Read-Only attribute is selected, you may receive the error message that "The specified file, or path could not be accessed"
If you receive this type error message, deselect the Read-Only attribute, and then import the .pst file again.
