Entourage Authentication Error 17897
Hi,
My problem is when you open the Entourage vX I get an error message telling me an errors occurred and the error number -17897. I made a new user and tried the Entourage, I worked well and went back to my user. I moved the folder "Microsoft User Data", created a new and did but I was still the problem. Finally reinstalled the Office vX but nothing. I have the mac pc 10.3 and the Office version is 10.1.4 Have someone knows how to fix it.
Thank you very much.
Re: Entourage Authentication Error 17897
The Error 17897 occurs because certain elements of the database for Entourage is actually shared by other applications and vice versa (it would be more accurate to speak of database of Office) to change identity must quit all applications.
Re: Entourage Authentication Error 17897
Entourage official site states that, If you are traveling around and getting error messages from Entourage when you send mail that "none of the authentication methods are recognized," Entourage discontinues to work with POP3-based MSN accounts. You'll will have to convert the account to a Hotmail-based account, which Entourage can then handle just fine. For doing this, you need to download MSN for Mac OS X and walk through the setup assistant. It will convert the account for you automatically."
Re: Entourage Authentication Error 17897
The Error 17897 occurs, If the Exchange account is not configured correctly or problem with the Microsoft Exchange server. To resolve this problem, verify that the Exchange account settings are correct, that the network configuration is correct, and that the Exchange server is operating correctly with all the required services running.
Re: Entourage Authentication Error 17897
The error 17897 you are getting is usually caused by corrupted account settings, I suggest that you make sure that the box that indicates that your outgoing server requires authentication is checked. In most e-mail client programs, this is not checked by default. If you still have problem then create new identities/new accounts.
