HP PSC 1210 Scanner problem
Just few days back i had reloaded the computer using the Packard Bell restore. I had done all the necessary Windows updates including service pack 2. Now the problem is that my Hp PSC 1210 doesn't scan, but it can prints and give photcopies. What i need to do in order to resolve my Hp PSC 1210 scanner problem? Any body knows about it? Please provide me the correct solution for the above issue.
Re: HP PSC 1210 Scanner problem
I think HP PSC 1210 is not fully network compatible that is the reason you are unable to scan from computer. I'm not sure what is really the problem. Anyway, based on your question there might be two of possibilities:
- The printer driver is not installed or not properly installed;
- Cables are not properly connected.
Re: HP PSC 1210 Scanner problem
The scanner drivers are probably imbedded in their scan software. Is the encoder strip hooked on both ends? It is a clear plastic strip running the length of the printer. The carriage counts tiny lines on it to determine position. Assuming you've already tried removing and reinstalling the software/driver, I recommend removing any other usb devices that might be causing a conflict, then reboot the computer - my external hard drive was causing problems for me.
Re: HP PSC 1210 Scanner problem
The alignment process should start automatically when a new cartridge is installed. Please ensure that the scanning device is connected properly and try again." message when trying to scan. Apparently reinstalling the same cartridge does not trigger alignment. In order to install proper drivers for your HP PSC 1210, you can check you the following link. Generally there is an option under the Maintenance Tab in the printer Properties that allows you to do an alignment.
