DirectX 9.0 or Windows 7?
Hello, I have a problem with my computer. I recently installed Windows 7. I want to play Spore on my PC, but i keep on getting an error message which tells me that I'm missing a file which i saw once in DirectX9. Can I install DirectX 9 on my computer and then i would update my PC which could let me solve the problem. Is it possible?
Re: DirectX 9.0 or Windows 7?
DirectX10 is included by default in Vista and Windows 7 has DirectX11. First i would suggest you to find if the game is compatible with Windows 7. Secondly check if there is any update available for the game and also check if there is an update available for DirectX. This may help in solving the problem... :crybaby:
Re: DirectX 9.0 or Windows 7?
I already have the latest version of DirectX11 with all the update available. I don't think there is any problem with this version but i feel this game needs DirectX 9.0. But again i have some confusion, this game works flawlessly at my friends play with Windows 7 without any tweaking. Can anyone help me with the issue? Thanks in advance...
Re: DirectX 9.0 or Windows 7?
Try this :
- Right-Click on game icon
- Select Run As Administrator
If this doesn't work, you need to try running this game in Windows Compatibility mode and try out both Windows XP and Windows 2000 mode. Hope this helps... :thumbup1:

Is your system upto the requirement needed by the game? If you are not sure about it check it. System reuirement by the game :

* 768 MB RAM
* A 128 MB Video Card, with support for Pixel Shader 2.0
* At least 4 GB of hard drive space, with at least 1 GB additional space for creations.
