HP Deskjet Printer Error : Uninstaller failed to initialize
Hi,
I have HP Deskjet 1220C printer, When attempting to install the HP Deskjet 1220C series printer, the following error appears: Uninstaller failed to initialize. During installation, the drivers and all were loading just fine, and the hardware was all functioning properly. But due to some problem, when I tried to uninstall the software, the uninstall attempted, but failed and I got error message saying, 'Uninstaller failed to initialize, you may not be able to delete this program'. What should I do know?
Re: HP Deskjet Printer Error : Uninstaller failed to initialize
Re-installation will not work because the installation files are already there. When you try to install the installation software checks the registry for information on previous installations. The register contains data tell the installer where the files are, but are gone - hence the error.
Use "Windows Installer Cleanup Tool" to remove all registration data to the software HP DeskJet printer. Once done, then reinstall from the CD that should work like a new installation.

The following steps may be used to remove the files used by the HP Deskjet 1220C series printer.

2.For Windows 2000 and XP, select Start , Search , and For Files or Folders .
3.In the Named box, type HPW8* and choose Find Now .
4.When the search results appear at the bottom of the window, choose Edit and Select All .
5.Select File and Delete . When asked to confirm the deletion, select Yes .
6.Select Yes to All to delete all of the printer driver program files. Close the Find window.
7.For Windows 2000 and NT 4.0 and XP, select Start , then Run . Type NET START SPOOLER and click OK
