How to close freezed full screen application on XP
Hi,, I am in need of some urgent help from you all guys. I am a windows Xp user and while playing some full screen games like Max payne or Condition Zero, my computer freezes and won't allow me to do anything. I mean, i am not able to use Task Manager as well so that i can terminate the application. The only way i can fix this issue is by restarting the machine.
Could you guys please make me know some tips to terminate these application in such condition ? Help appreciated.
Re: How to close freeze full screen application on XP
Well, many users face this issue with low specs computers. But fortunately there is a way to terminate this kind of application. It is SuperF4. SuperF4 kills the foreground program when you press Ctrl+Alt+F4. This is different from when you press Alt+F4. Alt+F4 only asks the foreground program to exit, allowing it to decide for itself what to do.
You can also kill a process by pressing Win+F4 and then clicking the window with your mouse. You can press escape or the right mouse button to exit this mode without killing a program.

Re: How to close freeze full screen application on XP
Thats correct. I also use SuperF4 when my computer freezes due to some applications. SuperF4 should be able to kill all kinds of processes, whether they are hung or not. Beware though, SuperF4 effectively kills the program and doesn't give it a chance to save unsaved work etc... Note that sometimes explorer.exe is killed along with your program, this is a known bug and I haven't really figured out what is causing it. To start it again, simply get into the Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) and run explorer.exe.

SuperF4 is now available in Spanish thanks to Fabrizio Ferri. You can also kill a process by pressing Win+F4 and then clicking the window with your mouse. You can press escape or the right mouse button to exit this mode without killing a program.
