WLBS and W2K3
-using 2 NICs on 2 servers.
-each server has a nic w/fixed IP for communication on the LAN: XXX.XXX.XXX.195 and XXX.XXX.XXX.197.
-each server has a nic w/fixed IP for NLB config: xxx.xxx.xxx.196 and xxx.xxx.xxx.198 note: niether of these has a gateway configured per:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/193602
-configured with Network Load Balancing Manager
"cluster IP":xxx.xxx.xxx.190 shows along with fixed IP for each NLB adapter under "ipconfig"
-http://support.microsoft.com/kb/193602 also says the 2 nics have to be on different subnets . . . Mine are all on the same subnet . . . will there be any problems???
Thanks

Re: WLBS and W2K3
If you use both NICs on the same subnet, then these will be in a same network, So if there is only one network, whats the use of NLB? The network will be confused that the same machine has two interfaces which one to use, you can configure that ofcourse but, why to put a redundant link when its not required??

Re: WLBS and W2K3
the idea was to have 1 nic from each server for the NLB and 1 each for direct communication . . . from what you are saying, I can assume that only 1 nic is needed and I can RDP to it's IP?
Unicast or Multicast config for the NLB?
