Debian Linux uninstallation fails
I am running Debian Linux on my computer. But my problem is I can not uninstall Debian Linux or replace it by another. Each time I try to do, it hangs at 15% of creation partitions.
I seek the ISO image of a CD-ROM with tools or at least a tool to delete and recreate the MBR on my hard drive. The PC does not even boot with USB, just on disk. Does anyone know where to get such an image? Or how to solve the problem?
Configuration:
PC: Compaq 2 GB 5
Hard Disk: 500 GB
Memory: 1 GB

Use TestDisk. TestDisk is a powerful free data recovery software! It was primarily designed to help recover lost partitions and/or make non-booting disks bootable again when these symptoms are caused by faulty software, certain types of viruses or human error (such as accidentally deleting a Partition Table). Partition table recovery using TestDisk is really easy.
TestDisk can:
- Fix partition table, recover deleted partition
- Recover FAT32 boot sector from its backup
- Rebuild FAT12/FAT16/FAT32 boot sector
- Fix FAT tables
- Rebuild NTFS boot sector
- Recover NTFS boot sector from its backup
- Fix MFT using MFT mirror
- Locate ext2/ext3 Backup SuperBlock
- Undelete files from FAT, NTFS and ext2 filesystem
- Copy files from deleted FAT, NTFS and ext2/ext3 partitions.
Re: Debian Linux uninstallation fails
The MS-DOS Fdisk utility usually updates the master boot record (MBR) only if no master boot record exists. Fdisk has a parameter called /mbr that causes it to write the master boot record to the hard disk without altering the partition table information. But keep in mind that the "fdisk /mbr" command only re-writes the MBR on the system drive (DISK-0) using BIOS calls. You cannot specify any other drive for the fdisk /mbr command to operate on other than DISK-0.

Ranish Partition Manager is a powerful hard disk partitioning tool. Ranish Partition Manager can create, copy, and resize primary and extended partitions. It includes command line interface and simulation mode that works with large files so you can safely experiment before working on the real hard drive partition tables.
