Hi,
Recently I installed the latest version of Catalyst 9.7. cause These drivers provide some performance improvements in games Crysis and Lost Planet Colonies and a new interface for the Catalyst Control Center. after installing everything works fine, except ATI Overdrive section. in adjusting the fan speed threshold is 50% whereas with the old drivers it was 0%. Game is crashing when the fan speed increases above 45%. any idea on this ?

Yes it's normal, they have raised the level. If you really want to manage your fans (fan speed according to temperature) using Ati Tray Tool: its a Free tweaker for Radeon cards that provides you with support for ATI Control Center.
Crysis is more intensive then those other games , that's why its using more gpu power! as you didnt mention anything about your configuration i cant comment more. do you have latest crysis patch installed in Your pc ?
Download Crysis Patch 1.2, it has made following changes
- Corrected a number of memory leaks with FSAA modes.
- Optimized Object Motion Blur for DX10 Very High Spec
- Destroying objects will now properly remove their decals from the world under DX10.
- Fixed a number of memory leaks with some procedural vegetation and destroyable objects physicalization.
- Fixed issue in windowed mode where the map or weapon attachment UI cursor can leave the game window.
- Fixed potential server exploit that could cause servers to crash
- Fixed crash with AI triangulation in the editor
