Try to download aida32 which is a hardware detector from the internet. If your system is deemed defective and you do not have a warranty on the unit, you will need to pay for the repairs.

The motherboard manufacturer can be identified by viewing the third digit in the PC's serial number.If you send the unit in for repair for a motherboard replacement a factory recovery will be done on the unit.

HP's support site says it is a P4SD-LA, which is an ASUS OEM board. The kelut-GL6E is manufactured by Asus for HP/Compaq. You would probably find many information on the internet. You can recover the data by taking the notebook to a Hp service center.
