Laptop Keyboard types only Numbers instead of Letters
I have a Dell laptop and if I press certain keys like the number keys then instead on numbers the letters are typed. I have tried to check whether the sticky key is enabled or not, but it isnt. I have also scanned my pc with Symantec antivirus but everything is clear. I am running my laptop on Windows XP with Service Pack 3. I think is this a keyboard problem or something else. Thanks for any replies.
Re: Laptop Keyboard types only Numbers instead of Letters
I think that you might have enabled the function key with some another key to turn off number lock on your keyboard. If you can see under your one of the f keys on your keyboard, it should say numlock so try to hold down the FN key and hit this key and it should give you your keys back to normal.

Yes, there is a key between the pause button and print screen button called num defil so press it along with FN key and Num Defil to activate and desactivate the number keybard. This feature is to be able to use number keybord like an ordinary keyboard. Also I think that the green light "1" is on when it's activated just up to the keyboard.
Re: Laptop Keyboard types only Numbers instead of Letters
It is very simple to solve this issue that is cause due to the digital lock that gets activated unknowingly. You simply have to press the Fn+Numlk or depending of the model, press the button or Fn + Shift +Numlk that will solve your issue.
