Windows 7 vs Snow Leopard

Microsoft and Apple are set for a showdown this year when they both launch their new computer operating systems. With the release of Snow Leopard the comparison between Windows 7 by Microsoft and the Snow Leopard has been started all over the place. Specially in the price and the new features both them offers.

Apple's move to price Snow Leopard at $29 for Leopard owners is a very welcome one, the move doesn't mean that Microsoft is getting a price beating from Apple. Both operating systems have much to recommend them . In term of performance Microsoft has made the operating system perform better than Windows Vista (and every report confirms that), Windows 7 the whole operating system has been turbo-charged to help users do what they want more quickly. Snow Leopard can boot up and shut down a Mac almost twice as quickly as a machine running Leopard.

Whats your choice?

Snow Leopard anytime. I had ordered Snow Leopard Pre-Ordered copy and currently i'm on Snow Leopard now and it simply rocks. Faster operation then Leopard and too simple to use. Also a lot of enhacement. You wont notice any major change but there are a lot of little little changes that are hard to notice but thats whats does the work... :thumbup1:

I think the Windows 7 is more popular than the snow leopard, as i went to google trends to know what people searching more i found the following report for this month :

But since as you can see image after the release of the Snow Leopard its going up to compete windows 7.

Well in terms of favorite os..... windows users will always choose the windows 7, because apple operating systems like snow leopard can't be installed on the normal pc and the pc users will never know what snow leopard gives to them. Windows 7 will gonna rule the OS world for the years same as XP did. If apple wants to make their OS to get more popular they should think mac os compatibility with PC.

The real battle begins on August 28 after Snow Leopard launches. But as we all know that Microosft has provided various and many good options to upgrade as people would not be able to figure real improvements of Snow Leopard. Apple showed Snow Leopard the way like it is not a major update but rather an enhanced version of Leopard. According to Microsoft, 90% of Windows users purchase the operating system preinstalled with a new PC. And if you ignore the Hackintosh crowd, 100% of Mac owners purchase OS X with a new Mac. And from microsoft any PC purchased with Windows XP or Windows Vista fromr October 2001 is qualified for a discounted upgrade to Windows 7, for a price as low as $50.

What would be the best immediate strategy for both?

That Microsoft lowered prices and not take more than three years to get Windows 8 and backward compatibility with 64-32bit compatibility. That Apple releases a new complete range (except perhaps the MacPro) computer at a competitive price, while recognizing that the difference has dropped considerably which meant in the past. If in the coming months will not announce any of this bad business.
