Cabel card support pc for Windows MCE
Hi,
Is anyone using a Cable card on their media center. I had just recently seen my friend subscribing for a cable card service. Now I want to build up my own Media center. Which can be preferable. A cable card or a wired connection. What is best system requirement for it. And how does I can put or install a cable card in my computer. What are the needful thing I have to purchase. I already have digital tv service in my area but I want to know some more details on the cable card service.

For adding a cable card to your media center you will need a special set top box which has a slot of cable card. Here there is absence of wired service. The cable card decrypts your HD channels to your MCE Screen. The cable card service is much better. But it is costlier than the regular one. You will just a need a good TV Tuner card and you are done. The rest of everything is same.

One thing you have to understand that once you subscribe for the cable card service then you cannot switch to the cable service. Because that will cause to add more money buy a new set top box. I have a asus system with a ATI TV Tuner card. I have subscribed to a digital tv service. The system works great. The only difference between them is that the cable card is wireless and more better than the cable service. The quality is great. But though costly also.

A cabel card is a type of a security card which is inserted to a slot located on the Digital box. The cards is used to decode and encrypt premium channels on your system. The cable card is only needed when you want to view the encrypted HD channels. That is the paid services. Buy putting this you get access to OTA channels, free HD channels, etc. To use this you will need two digital tuners. The first will be provided by the cable guy and the second one is your TV Tuner card.
