How to set up multiple IPs in Ipv4
Trying to find a way to set up ipv4 settings (IP, gateway, etc) to flex between a home and office network. Office is set up to use a static IP and gateway while the home isn't. Is there anyway to set Vista up to change settings between Home and Office on its own or do I have to manually adjust settings each time I leave home for the office? I know of hardware profiles, but I'm hoping for something easier than having to reboot and change it, etc.
Thanks.
Re: How to set up multiple IPs in Ipv4
To assign a different IP address to each card with multiple network interface cards (NICs) on your computer,or to assign multiple IP addresses to a single NIC. Highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), click Properties on the network connections. If you use DHCP, you should disable it and mark Use the following IP address and enter IP address, Subnet mask and Default gateway.
Click Advanced... at the bottom. Enter additional IP addresses add it and enter a new IP address and Subnet mask.
