How to clone a hard drive with Norton Ghost
Many a times you want to take the backup of your files and store your data on other drives. My previous thread also talked about How to clone a Hard Disk Drive. But now I am providing you some steps on how to clone your hard drive using Norton Ghost 14.0. Norton Ghost has maintained a well-deserved reputation when cloning is concerned. How you ever cloned or copied your drive? Here are the simple and easy steps:
- Start Norton Ghost 14.0.
- In the left pane, click Tasks.
- In the right pane, click Run or Manage Backups.
- Click Define New.
- Click Back up my computer, and then click Next.
- In the Drives panel, click a single drive to select it, or hold down the Ctrl key and click multiple drives.
- Click Next.
- In the "Recovery Point Type" panel, select the type of recovery point to create, and then click Next.
- In the Backup Destination panel, click Browse, and then navigate to the drive and folder where the recovery point will be saved. If you want to add an Offsite Copy location, click Add and then add the Offsite location (i.e. Local folder, Shared folder on network or FTP server).
- Click Next.
- In the Options panel, type a name for the recovery point, and then click Next.
- In the Backup Time panel, if you want to schedule the backup, click Schedule and configure the scheduling options such as Start time and days in a week. If you keep the Schedule option unchecked, backup will not run unless you run it manually.
- Click Next.
- In the "Completing the Define Backup Wizard" panel, review the options that you have set, and then check Run backup now.
- Click Finish to start the backup.
