if you have optical mouse and wireless keyboard. then you should try removing the batteries from the keyboard and mouse for a minimum 1/2 hours. after that Reinsert them, check to see whether they are working properly or not
Re: Mouse Cursor Wanders in Windows vista
Do you have a wireless mouse? Maybe try changing the battery. also try Pressing the button on the receiver for 15 seconds. and Release it for 15 seconds first start over keeping the button pressed for 40 seconds (this is long ) (I think it re-initialize the receiver ) The problem is that there is a breakdown in communication between the mouse and the PC ... and therefore the PC resets often at the center or on a corner of the screen, but with the movement of the mouse, is seem that it is wandering away

The problem may come from the media that is reflective. If it is an optical mouse then you have to checked the surface that you are using, Have you replace the mouse mat as well, because if the surface is shiny then the pointer will tend to wander throughout the screen. maybe trying the matt surface ,also The problem might come from a dirt on optics , gently cleaning would help
