GO Daddy UC Certificate issue
Hi
I bought a UC Certificate from Go Daddy in order to replace a single name certificate from Thawte.I know that WM5 clients can not use a
wild card certificate. My WM6 clients have no issues with this certificate, however my WM5 clients reluctant to connect to the Exchange server. When ever tries getting an invalid certificate error.but am curious if WM5 clients can use a UC Certificate?
any thoughts??
Re: GO Daddy UC Certificate issue
Have had 4 SSL certs with them for over 2 years, then they auto-renewed all them without my knowledge, took my money and did not credit me to renew the certs. Even i can realize the situation, how ever WM5 does not support a UC certificate. You must need a 6.x device or higher.
Re: GO Daddy UC Certificate issue
The Godaddy website might be a little confusing, however they do offer the cheapest certificates around. Some time in Google will convince you that current versions of neither Firefox nor Safari supports Go Daddy certificates without additional "intermediate" certificates.but i know You can install the certificate and the clients will be able to synchronize, since the UC certificate is not installed by default on Windows Mobile 5.0.
Re: GO Daddy UC Certificate issue
The problem first appeared with Windows Mobile 6,but eventually Microsoft installed a new root certificate to support all GO Daddy certificates. They allow you to secure up to 100 domain names in a single certificate and can consolidate all your secure domains into one certificate. UC Certificates support Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 and Microsoft Live Communications Server..So a workaround for Windows Mobile 5.0 and earlier devices is to install the certificate on the device.
