Re: HP DL-585 G1 Processors
The DL585 combines AMD Opteron processor technology, best-in-class management and outstanding uptime features in an enterprise-class system ideal for large data center deployments. I am mentioning some specs of HP DL-585 G1 that can help you out to understand your issue:-
Processors:
- AMD Opteron 800 series up to 2.6 GHz Dual-Core processors OR
- AMD Opteron 800 series up to 2.8 GHz single core processors
- Two or four total processors supported
- AMD Opteron 8000 chipset supporting up to 1 GHz HyperTransport
Memory:
- 4 GB of PC3200 DDR SDRAM, running at 400 MHz, expandable to 32 GB
- 2 GB of PC2700 DDR SDRAM, running at 333 MHz, expandable to 128 GB with support for PC2700 DDR with Advanced ECC SDRAM (64 GB running at 333 MHz or 128 GB running at 266 MHz)
Re: HP DL-585 G1 Processors
I guess the BIOS should show more reliant information. If you look at the memory configuration using the HP Management Agent Homepage or the iLO-card, slots 1-4 will always be shown, regardless if they exist or not.The 128GB memory footprint enables most applications to run faster or support more users than other systems.Maybe the motherboard has enough power to run all the processors in that family, but the BIOS startup code has to be able to handle all variants. try to boot the server into the BIOS setup screen and look at the memory configuration there.I do not remember what exactly it is shown and how, but at least options for advanced memory properties are as hot stop and reflect.
