Hi,
I just bought a new monitor on eBay - An LG W2242S Monitor.
However, when I plug everything in, the screen is displayed correctly for about 1 second but then it goes to a black screen and I get nothing - Not even the menu of the monitor.
Is this fixable?
Do not connect monitor cable to CPU and turn on the monitor you will get some color codes moving on your screen but if you cant see it then there must be problem in monitor also if you have new one you can claim warranty.
Try to get a new video card and connect it to your mobo and then check if your new LG lcd screen works properly. If it works properly, then your current video card is corrupted. If another video card also doesn't work, then surely your new monitor is in problem. In that case, you need to contact the manufacturers.
Maybe it is your video card overheating. This is because the games require a higher frame rate than windows. Set the monitor back to factory defaults using the menu buttons on the front of the monitor. Right click my computer and choose manage. then click device manager, and expand display adapters.
I've tried the monitor on 3 computers and it doesn't work on any of them.
BenTen: I actually can't use the menu buttons on the monitor because after the 1 second of the screen working, not even the menu shows when the menu button is pressed.
That must mean that the monitor is faulty then.
hello, you just mentioned that the monitor is fresh one..and this product putting you in trouble..all i want to say why you need to bear this kind of problems with troubleshooting,you are obviously running on it's warranty period..contact the guys from where you bought the monitor
