Hello friends,
I have HP Pavilion Dv5000.
This laptop was working fine till last night, but I don't know what went wrong?
Today morning I turned it on & it gave me 4 beep sound & finally it wont start.
I have tried many ways but I get 4 beep & this laptop just wont start anymore.
Have you guys know about the 4 beep sound? IS it the hdd or the OS or any other component?

I had HP DC5100 & same 4 beep problem happened with me too. Eventually I found that the power supply was the culprit. So just changed the PSU & it worked for me that time.
I think in your case too the PSU is going bad. You need to check it with the support I hope its in warranty period.
One of my friend told me that the problem may be due to the recent update I had with my system.
Do you guys think this could be the reason? According to my friend the recent hidden Microsoft update the .dll file is the cause of the problem.
If its true do you think I can roll back to previous state in any way?
I hope my PSU is not gone bad.

Well If you ask me the typical BIOS behavior says the 4 beep is the indication of a faulty video or ram chip & its really tough to diagnosis for laptops.
You have to check your ram sticks first if those are working fine then it has to be the video card problem.
One more suggestion for you is to clean the lappy if you think there is any dust arond, since it may be a result of dust causing overheat issue to your laptop.
