How to update BIOS in Vista x64
I have a compaq desktop pc. I am getting booting issue in the system from last few days. So I tried to install windows back from a bootable usb drive. A message occurred that the device is not accessible. I think there is some issue with the bios. My system was affected by virus. So I need to format the system. I need a procedure to update the bios in windows vista x64 version.
Re: How to update BIOS in Vista x64
Before updating the bios version first determine the version which you are using in the bios setup. Then see up your system specification and log into the compaq site for the bios utility. Do not download any upgrade program. That may can make your system unstable. You can only get the exact the same version from the official site.

The bios version depends on the brand of mother board you are using. First determine all the necessary information then take any further steps. Normally the best option for you is Windows Automated Installation kit. It is available on Microsoft site. Download it and run it. Then in this you will need to create a USB bootable disk. It is in wizard mode and easy to do. Create a USB disk and restart your windows. Windows menu will appear and you can flash the bios easily.

If you download the bios you will receive a setup file. A setup file is an automated file which is installed in wizard mode. First download the bios version compatible to your system and double click on the file to run it. It will launch in wizard mode and update the system bios. But before flashing properly determine the version of your motherboard virus.
Re: How to update BIOS in Vista x64
Some older BIOS on asus motherboard needs to be updated so that they can recognize AMD sempron processor properly and then Vista x64 could run properly. I did that same with my old computer with Asus Motherboard and Sempron Processor. :thumbup1:
