ieexplorer.exe is a virus?
Hi,
I have windows Xp & I have noticed a high CPU usage with my system. I looked into the task bar & i noticed that iexplorer.exe is running but I have not even started the internet explorer. I am not using the program for surfing or any activity. I use firefox.
Its an exe program so I think this must be the culprit.
If my guess is right then how to get rid of this virus.
Re: IS ieexplorer.exe is a virus?
I must say before deleting the file first check what type of file it is.
If you have any updated antivirus program update it & scan your system fully in safe mode.
Re: IS ieexplorer.exe is a virus?
Hey its an old threat.
I had the ieexplorer.exe file on my system some time back & whenever I tried to end the process it came right back. So I needed to reboot my system & on the reboot the ieexplorer.exe gome from the processes. I think the reboot is the answer. "iexplore.exe" is the main executable of the Internet Explorer browser from Mircosoft. It is considered a part of the Windows operating system
Re: IS ieexplorer.exe is a virus?
IEXPLORE.EXE is the filename for internet explorer, but not when Internet Explorer is not running.
To get rid of this you need to search & delete all such .exe files first & delete them & then just restart your system. Its ldr64.dll is the culprit. But you can not delete the ldr64.dll. It wont harm your system the simple reboot has already solved your problem.
