Hello,
I have Dell Dimension 3000 with P4 3.0ghz and 1gb ram, my cpu fan was making very loud noise,so i decided to clean the dust from the fan since then the CPU fan in my Dimension 3000 stopped running. please tell me how to fix the fan on Dell Dimension 3000.

I think your connector is broken , if it is the case then there is no way to repair the faulty connector in all likelihood. what you can do is Remove the front cover and check that the air intake is not obstructed. Remove the heatsink, clean the heatsink and processor and reseat the heatsink with new thermal compound.There may be an unused connector on the board for an optional case fan. If so you could plug your processor fan into that. it will work.
Open your computer up and replace cpu fan with cool and quiet fan. They are a lot more quiet than the standard fans. Check the new fan orientation and make sure the fan is pulling air through the case an exhausting to the rear of the case, and not pulling air from the rear to front.
