Blue screen on Toshiba M-800 D3311 laptop.
Right after the purchase of the notebook as soon as i had installed the software and tried to connect my blackberry phone, the blue screen started coming .I approached the dealer and they suggested that the computer be cleaned up and all sysytems restarted again.Following that we again did the neccessary work following which right after set up of software , the blue screen emerged. again we created a recovery disc(as suggested by their helpline assisitant on that day ) and tried it again.
I just used the comp to play dvd's for a while to test it and when trying to reinstall the software , the blue screen has emerged again.
Obviously there is a serious problem in the notebook which was not being addressed, the Toshiba guys then took the laptop, kept it for 25 days and said it was a motherboard problem and had replaced it.
But when I loaded my Blackberry CD the same blue screen comes or when I try play any DVD. Its really hopeless, a brand new laptop 2 months old and they cannot find the problem, despite the warranty they are not helping.

I would first try to check the ram by testing it at memtest.org. Can you by any chance post all the error codes that you can see at the blue screen.
Re: Blue screen on Toshiba M-800 D3311 laptop.
The reason behind your problem can a bad video card or failing memory module. If the vidoe thing is bad than you will have to replace the display card. But unfortunately it comes inbuilt on your system. You said that your mother board is replaced by the toshiba guys. The same problem never arises on the two different mother board. Next thing you will need to see the memory module. If you can just remove the RAM and place it in different solot. Or if possible then replace it with some different and check it out. The blue screen issue is mainly related to an corrupt RAM.

The screen says;

If this is the first time , you have seen this stop error screen , restart your computer.if this screen appears again, follow these steps
Check , to be sure if you have adequate space. If a driver is identified in the stop message disable the driver or check with the manufacturer for driver
Check with your hardware vendor for any Bios updates. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components , restart your computer , press F8 to select advanced start up operations.

Re: Blue screen on Toshiba M-800 D3311 laptop.
To troubleshoot a Stop 0x0000007E error in Windows XP, follow these steps:
1. Remove some of the memory modules that are installed on the computer. Leave at least the RAM that is required for the computer to start and run Windows XP.
The recommended RAM to run Windows XP is 128 megabytes (MB). The minimum is 64 MB, and the maximum is 4 gigabytes.
For example, if two 256-MB memory modules are installed on your computer, remove one of the memory modules.
2. Restart your computer, and then run the Setup program:
1. Insert the Windows XP Setup CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive, start the computer, and then click OK to select the first option screen to install a copy of Windows XP.
2. Click Accept, and then follow the instructions on the screen to complete the Windows XP installation.
3. If you again receive the error message that is mentioned in the "Symptoms" section, go to step 4.
4. Remove a different memory module, or install the RAM in a different memory slot.
5. Restart your computer, and then rerun Setup.
You may have to restart your computer several times to identify the specific memory modules that are not working correctly.

Hope this help you .
