Videos playing problem in WMP

I have several wmv files that play perfectly on several versions of WMP on two different pc's. When i bought a new Samsung netbook, I am unable to get them to play correctly. On versions of WMP the audio plays ok, but the video is slow, appearing as a series of still pictures changing about every three seconds. I have tried everything that three different tech support people from Samsung suggested (including downloading codecs and downloading The KMPlayer. On KMPlayer the problem is the opposite. The video streams ok but the audio has delays. I'm out of ideas and would appreciate any help.

It could be a lack of installed RAM.

If you have an all in one M'Board with everything on the M'Board like Sound & Video the CPU performs the job of the GPU so it's working much harder than it otherwise would and the System RAM gets used as Video Ram which is much slower than Video RAM so that can also present some problems.
