How to change the background of Windows Explorer

I want to change windows explorer background color in my windows Vista. I don't like Aero. Does anyone have any suggestions? I also tried searching around on the internet and all I found few 3rd party programs that allow you to change all the colors , but how to trust them? i don't know which one is good or to which one trust.
Re: How to change the background of Windows Explorer
I think more than one gets tired of seeing the old white background that is caused by default, every time we create a new folder on our Windows.
The colors are changed from the dropdown box for shellstyle background in SKS 6.
XP Specific > Shellstyle > Background > Dropdown box choices.

Refer to this similar query thread : http://forums.techarena.in/customize...op/1106623.htm
and this thread http://forums.techarena.in/vista-fil...ent/911382.htm
There are many good applications like eXPlorer Styler 1 , Backgrounder are available.
Re: How to change the background of Windows Explorer
Create a text file with name desktop.ini. in the folder where you need to change the background.
add the following code at the end
Quote:
[{BE098140-A513-11D0-A3A4-00C04FD706EC}]
IconArea_Image=complete path to the image file
for example:
Quote:
[{BE098140-A513-11D0-A3A4-00C04FD706EC}]
IconArea_Image=Bday photosabc.bmp
Save the file.
Re: How to change the background of Windows Explorer
Here is the application called as Vista Folder Background which is created by Andreas. It’s good to have this utility to enable the folder background customization, and works in vista.
Manually run the install.bat with admin privileges. Run uninstall.bat to uninstall and restart for the uninstallation to complete.
