Re: What ctrl alt del function does in Remote Desktop
This is the windows short cut key to open an task manager where you could see all the background open application as well as your network progress and you are able to delete the process directly from the task manager, it is helpful when any program is not responding in any way then it will get close from here. Instead of that it will not harm your computer, it is totally safe.
Re: What ctrl alt del function does in Remote Desktop
To invoke task manager for nested terminal services sessions use :Ctrl+alt+shift+home. This was actually intended by Microsoft because there are many cases where you may not want that to be sent to the remote computer.Ctrl-Shift-Esc brings up the Task Manager but does not perform the same function as Ctrl-Alt-Del in MS Windows Remote Desktop.
Re: What ctrl alt del function does in Remote Desktop
Ctrl-Alt-Del keyboard shortcut has been commonly used since IBM PC with DOS era to perform soft reboot, and used in modern Windows system to activate Winlogon process with this short cut key you may also open Task Manager or Windows Security dialog box that allows user to log off, lock computer, shutdown PC, run Task Manager, switch user and other functions. If you can see the toolbar on the remote desktop, right-click then select Task Manager.
