Overclocking E8400 upto 3.6GHz
I was trying to clock my Intel Core2Duo E8400 upto 3.6GHz and have set the clock speed upto 400 to achieve this. But after saving the settings in the bios, when the computer starts, there are beeps and then it resets. It then resets for about 3 times and then only it can boot normally. I dont understand why it is not accepting the settings! Should I try further to overclock? Is there any tweak that I have left? Or should I go to the Bios and leave it at the default speed? Please guide me on this.
Re: Overclocking E8400 upto 3.6GHz
Before you even think about Overclocking to 3.6Ghz make sure you have a good CPU Cooler... and i am not talking about what Intel Provides either. If you are still using that, get something better. 3.6Ghz will be out of your reach until then.
Re: Overclocking E8400 upto 3.6GHz
What CPU Voltages you using trying to get to 3.6+ ?
If its still 1.15V then I guess thats the problem.
EDIT:
The Auto Voltages is not good but start off by setting the voltages to 1.2V and see how far you can go without blue screen.... like [email protected] got in, 3.3-3.4 get in but from then it blue screens you know that @ 1.23-25V 3.4Ghz should be stable.
