Re: How to add Header and Footer in Excel 2007
Headers and footers are often used to identify the document used to produce the report and to display the page numbers and the date and time of printing. Header is printed in the top margin and footer is a line of text that prints at the bottom of each page in the spreadsheet.Unless you specify , Excel does not automatically add either a header or footer to a workbook. So to insert header and footer, follow this simple steps:-
- Go to View tab.
- Now click the Page Layout icon in the Workbook Views group.
- Click in the area marked Click to add header.
- Choose where you want the text to be, left, center or right aligned.
- Now type the desired text in the appropriate box.
- You also can use the Header & Footer Tools Design Tab, Header & Footer Elements group to insert the appropriate text.
- If you wish to go to the footer, click on Go to Footer icon in the Navigation group.
- Click the Home tab to apply formatting to the text.
Thats it..

Headers and footers are not visible in the normal worksheet view.To view it
You can use the Page Layout view to see the headers and footers. To view a header or footer before printing the spreadsheet, use the Print Preview option
If you need to return to normal vies just click on any cell in the worksheet to leave the footer area. Click on the View tab. Click on the Normal option in the ribbon.

You can also insert various header and footer elements like Page numbers, Number of pages, Current Date, Current Time, File Path, File Name, Sheet name and picture. You can even change other options like have different header and footer in first page of the Excel sheet, Different for odd and even pages, scale with document, align with page margins.
